An original production background from the Disney Studios animated film, "Paul Bunyan" (1958). Featuring a simple yet beautiful countryside, the hand-painted background was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece represents an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the short. Legendary illustrator and artist Eyvind Earle's initials appear in the lower left of the background as the production approval. Measuring 12.5"x15.5" overall, with the image itself measuring 11.5"x15.5", the background is in very good condition with minor wear due to age and handling.
